Seeing your baby smile makes you happy. Your baby uses the muscles of the face and mouth to accomplish this smile. However, these structures are also used for other important life purposes such as eating, drinking, and speaking. Significant mouth development occurs during the first two years of your baby's life. By using simple, appropriate techniques during the first two years of life, you can help your baby develop the best mouth structure and movement possible.
