Presenter: Ana Paula Mumy, SLPD, CCC-SLP
– A.A., prior course participant
The U.S. Census Bureau reports an ever-increasing linguistic and cultural diversity in the U.S. population. Speech-language pathologists are faced with challenging issues as the many variables that impact communication are intensified. SLPs can no longer use the English language and America’s cultural standards to assess the communication competency of those from other language and cultural backgrounds.
This course is designed to enable SLPs to incorporate a new working knowledge as it relates to bilingualism in the assessment and treatment of CLD populations. The material presented will allow participants to make appropriate decisions with greater confidence and expertise when working with toddlers, preschool, and school-age children.
Course is offered for 0.15 ASHA CEUs – 1.5 Contact Hours.
Course Overview – Run Time: 1:35:15
