Kaufman DVD Post Test and CEUs.  Enrollment on this page purchases access to the post test and 0.4 CEUs associated with the Kaufman Speech To Language Protocol Instructional DVD.  Training and educational materials are not included on this purchase (testing access only).  You may purchase the DVD Set here or you may purchase the online viewing access here.

Course Format: No learning materials; post-test only.  Multiple choice questions.     

At Video / DVD conclusion, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand and implement a specific evaluation method to include elements of the Kaufman Speech Praxis Test for Children in order to identify error patterns and to establish syllable shape goals.
  2. Understand and implement a specific treatment method — the Kaufman Speech to Language
    Protocol (K-SLP) —
    to help children to become effective vocal/verbal communicators.
  3. Understand and implement strategies of employing phonological processes to simplify words, thereby establishing successive approximations as a temporary, functional means of communication.
  4. Understand and implement cues, fade cues, script functional language and utilize powerful reinforcers for carryover skills.
  5. Understand and implement home programs to increase practice for carryover skills.

A score of 80% or better must be received on the post-test in order to
receive a certificate of completion.

Join Nancy Kaufman for this comprehensive, 4-hour training program as she teaches viewers step-by-step and in specific detail how to employ the K-SLP strategies of word simplification, scripting, and cuing to increase speech intelligibility for children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) and other speech sound disorders (SSD). Watch over 40 video examples of children of different ages and abilities interact with Nancy as she teaches the skills of combining consonants and vowels into words, and words into functional expressive language.



Nancy Kaufman,

MA, CCC-SLP

Since 1979, Nancy has dedicated herself to establishing the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol (K-SLP), a treatment approach to help children become effective vocal communicators. She lectures nationally and internationally on the subject of childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) and other speech sound disorders in children.

Families from around the country and the world are able to experience video consultations and many travel to the Kaufman Children's Center for Speech, Language, Sensory-Motor, and Social Connections, Inc. (KCC) in West Bloomfield, Michigan, to participate in intensive, specialized therapy programs. The KCC continues to grow, offering renowned speech, language, occupational therapy, sensory integration, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) center and home-based autism programs.

Nancy serves on the professional advisory board of the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America (CASANA), the board of visitors of Wayne State University's Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute for Child and Family Development, and as the speech-language consultant for the Parish School and Carruth Center in Houston, Texas, and Suburban Speech Center in Short Hills, New Jersey.

Nancy received her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and her master's at Wayne State University. She has been honored by both of her alma maters, receiving the Outstanding Alumni Award from MSU in 2010 and the Distinguished Alumni Award from WSU in 2015. Nancy earned the Distinguished Service Award from Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA) in 2011, and Community Excellence Business Person of the Year Award from the West Bloomfield Township Chamber of Commerce in 2015. The Kaufman Children's Center has been awarded MSHA's Clinical Service Award and Corp! Magazine's Best of Michigan Business Award. Nancy has three grown children and resides with her husband in West Bloomfield, MI.

ASHA CEUS: Attendees must meet at least one of the following conditions in order to be eligible to earn ASHA CEUs:

  • Current ASHA Member
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Holder
  • Licensed by a state or provincial regulatory agency to practice speech-language pathology (SLP) or audiology
  • Credentialed by a state regulatory agency to practice SLP or audiology
  • Credentialed by a national regulatory agency to practice SLP or audiology
  • Engaged in a Clinical Fellowship under the supervision of an individual with their ASHA CCC
  • Currently enrolled in a masters or doctoral program in SLP or audiology

If an attendee is not an ASHA member or CCC holder but meets any of the above criteria, they may provide their eligibility on the ASHA CEU Participant Form or inform the ASHA CE Registry of their eligibility by visiting this site.

Submitting To ASHA:  Please note that if you selected to receive ASHA credit for this e-Course and you provided your ASHA number during enrollment, NSS will automatically submit your CEU information to ASHA on the 5th day of the following month. When ASHA inputs the information into their database, they will mark the e-Course as completed on the last day of the month it was completed. For example, if you complete your e-Course on November 7th, it will be reflected in ASHA's system as completed on November 30th. The certificate of completion available for you to print immediately on completion of the e-Course, however, will reflect the actual completion date, November 7th in this example. Due to ASHA processing procedures please allow 2-3 weeks, from the submission date, for the course to show up on your ASHA transcript.

Licensing Boards: Most state licensing boards DO accept CEUs earned online (usually classified as home-study credits). Some state boards do, however, place a limit to the number of credits that can be earned via home study/online courses. For the most current information, we suggest that you contact your licensing board or agency to verify acceptance policies and/or any credit limits related to home-study courses prior to registering for this course.

  • Course Completion Timeframe: You have unlimited time to complete this online course. You may log off and log on as you wish in order to complete all sections of this course.

  • Content Access: Access to course materials and content does not expire, even after completing the post test. You may continue to review course material by logging into your NSS account, clicking the E-Courses tab, and then viewing your desired course.

  • Certificate of Completion: On successful completion of the post test (80%), a certificate will be immediately available for download and/or printing. This certificate will include your name, date of completion (based on the Eastern Standard Time Zone), and number of contact hours (CEUs / CEEs).
